Bill Lann Lee.

Tuesday (12/16): President Clinton will present awards to the fourteen 1997 recipients of
the nation's highest science and technology honors, the National Medal of Science and the

Wednesday (12/17): President Clinton will attend a ceremony to confer the Congressional Space

In the afternoon, President Clinton will meet with a group of conservatives to discuss a variety of
issues raised by the Initiative on Race. At this meeting we expect the President to hear a wide
range of conservative positions being voiced as part of the dialogue fostered by the Initiative.
